Videoconferences Part II: Different applications to telework.

The second parts were never good, but in this post we will try to do. We continue with the previous post -conferences post part I.


Wire

It is an instantaneous messaging application , file exchange, calls and video calls available for iOS, Android, OS X, Windows, GNU/Linux operating systems and web browsers. With end -to -end encryption the application makes the process safely.

It has three types of licenses .

· Wire Pro , safe collaboration in teams : combines security in messages, voice and video calls, shared screen and shared files. This version is for those work teams that need to protect their communications and documents internally , both for clients and partners. The encryption is performed by point. Its price is $ 5.83 that would be almost € 5 per user per month in annual billing . The license allows up to 4 participants in video calls and a maximum of 10 participants in audio calls

· Wire Enterprise , Security and Privacy : In addition to the point -to -point security, this license adds the EU data protection, that is, the GDPR/GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Its price is 9.5 dollars, € 8.08 per user per month in annual billing. It has the same restrictive characteristics of video calls and calls as the Wire Pro.

Google Hangouts - Meet - Duo

Google's calls and video calls are several, Google Meet, Google Hangouts and Google Duo.

· Google Hangouts : is the union of Google Meet and Google Chat integrated with several programs to the package called G-Suite. Google Hangouts is currently running without needing the G-Suite package, many speculations say that Google wants to remove it gradually and that during the year 2020 it will disappear. The web application is integrated into Gmail and is free for users who have a Google account, to make calls or video calls. The limit to perform a videoconference is 10 users and without time limit.

· Google Duo : In 2016, it was announced as an alternative to Facetime, integrating it into Android. In addition, it is compatible with iOS and websites. Although Google Duo was designed to talk from person to person, currently the limit of participants in a conference is 12, without time limit.

Viber

It is an application for text, video and audio communication . Available for GNU/Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, IOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry, Nokia, Bada and Firefox. Viber works for both the 3G and Wifi band. It is free but to make calls to mobile phones you must pay a fee per month of € 5.99 . The limit to perform video calls is 20 people through any of the Viber groups.

Cisco Webex

It is a company that is dedicated to selling the application for web conferences and videoconferences . Cisco Webex has two applications, one for videoconferences, called Webex Meetings , and another for business chat, Webex Teams . For this post, we will focus on Webex Meetings. The application focuses on the ease of use, with just one click you can join a video meeting with simply a link. You can share screen or any other application that you open. You can record the meeting and invite videoconference to more than 40,000 people. Even if you think it has no limitations, webx has 4 plans . Qtox

Qtox is an application that uses the tox protocol based on P2P , instant messaging and video calls with end -to -end encryption . Free software is considered under the terms of the general public license of GNU (GNU GPL), version 3 or posterior. It was created from the espionage revelations made by Edward Snowden, who accused Skype of cooperating with the NSA.

Qtox can be lowered for any platform, with the exception of iOS .
